بِسمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحمٰنِ الرَّحيمِ
In the name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.
Surah 82: The Shattering (Al-Infitar)
الإنفطار
إِذَا السَّماءُ انفَطَرَت
When the heaven is shattered.
وَإِذَا الكَواكِبُ انتَثَرَت
The planets are scattered.
وَإِذَا البِحارُ فُجِّرَت
The oceans are exploded.
وَإِذَا القُبورُ بُعثِرَت
The graves are opened.
عَلِمَت نَفسٌ ما قَدَّمَت وَأَخَّرَت
Every soul will find out what caused it to advance, and what caused it to regress.
يٰأَيُّهَا الإِنسٰنُ ما غَرَّكَ بِرَبِّكَ الكَريمِ
O you human being, what diverted you from your Lord, Most Honorable?
الَّذى خَلَقَكَ فَسَوّىٰكَ فَعَدَلَكَ
The One who created you, designed you, and perfected you.
فى أَىِّ صورَةٍ ما شاءَ رَكَّبَكَ
In whatever design He chose, He constructed it.
كَلّا بَل تُكَذِّبونَ بِالدّينِ
Indeed, you disbelieve in the religion.
وَإِنَّ عَلَيكُم لَحٰفِظينَ
Oblivious to the fact that there are (invisible) keepers around you.
كِرامًا كٰتِبينَ
They are honest recorders.
يَعلَمونَ ما تَفعَلونَ
They record everything you do.
إِنَّ الأَبرارَ لَفى نَعيمٍ
Surely, the pious have deserved bliss.
وَإِنَّ الفُجّارَ لَفى جَحيمٍ
While the wicked have deserved Hell.
يَصلَونَها يَومَ الدّينِ
Will incur it on the Day of Judgment.
وَما هُم عَنها بِغائِبينَ
They never leave it.
وَما أَدرىٰكَ ما يَومُ الدّينِ
Awesome is the Day of Judgment.
ثُمَّ ما أَدرىٰكَ ما يَومُ الدّينِ
What a day; the Day of Judgment!
يَومَ لا تَملِكُ نَفسٌ لِنَفسٍ شَيـًٔا وَالأَمرُ يَومَئِذٍ لِلَّهِ
That is the day when no soul can help another soul, and all decisions, on that day, will belong to God.
